A British tank supplied to the U.S.S.R. under Lend-Lease. To eliminate the necessity of imported shells and ammunition, the U.S.S.R. engineers re-equipped the Valentine with the 45 mm 20K gun and 7.62 mm DT machine gun. Despite the 45 mm gun having inferior penetration rates, the availability of HE shells significantly increased the firepower of the vehicle.
